Our handwoven zari dress-cum-robe cascades like liquid mercury over the body in this semi-structured wrap. This one size piece doubles as a robe as well as a kaftan-style wrap dress: wear it open for a unique but more casual look, or cross it over at the front and secure it with the belt over a slip for an exceptional evening outfit.

The zari is a metallic thread woven onto a khadi cotton base that has a rich, lustrous shine; the texture is soft but the fabric maintains its shape. Silver stripes on one side, and a thin red selvedge along the back, sleeves and hem, add a finsihing touch to this gorgeous piece.

Material & Size
Made from 50% tested zari and 50% cotton in West Bengal, India. One size. The "sleeve" comes down to 65cm (25"), while the length measures 115cm (45").

Gently hand wash separately in mild detergent and cold water. Do not soak. Drip dry in the shade.

Zari Dune Wrap Dress

This robe is the result of a lengthy process, whereby cotton fibres are carefully hand spun and hand woven by rural Bengali weavers. This fabric is known as khadi and for this style, we have added a high-shine zari thread into the weave to give an incredibly rich shine and lustre. Any variations or irregularities are part of the design and inherent to the production process.

On sustainability:

- Eco: khadi is ecologically superior; entirely hand made processes mean this item is eco-friendly.

- Ethical: yarn spinning is done by members of KVI, a government-supported non-profit organisation providing rural artisans with regular work. Weaving is completed by a for-profit family-run company ensuring weavers get full-year employment and fair wages. Garments are stitched in our Delhi workshop where workers receive well above the minimum wage and enjoy flexible, safe and comfortable working conditions.
