Kutch Wool Rug | coffee
This textile has been hand woven by members of the Vankar community; a group of traditional weavers in rural Kutch, Western India. Kutch is renowned as a textile mecca in India; some of the finest weaving and embroidery originates in this region.
The textile, woven in wool sheared from a local breed of sheep, is woven on a pit loom in narrow stripes which are then hand-stitched together. It's woven in the natural shades of the wool, with geometric motifs which are as contemporary looking as they are traditional in style.
Any variations or irregularities are part of the design and inherent to the production process.
