RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Our Khmer Ikat Scarves are handwoven by weavers in villages outside Phnom Penh. Our partner works directly with weavers to design the ikat, ensuring artisans receive regular and fairly paid employment.
The creation of authentic, handmade ikat requires up to 100 individual steps from the breeding of the silk worms to the production of the final cloth. It's no wonder then that some cultures believe ikat fabric is imbued with magical powers, due to the time and skill involved in creating it.
Our ikat textiles are the result of an extremely laborious and highly-skilled process whereby threads are meticulously tied, bound and dyed, and finally hand woven. Any variations or irregularities are part of the design and inherent to the production process.
- Eco: Use of natural dyes and entirely handmade processes means there is no toxic waste created.
- Artisan-sourced: this product has been sourced direclty from the weavers, ensuring they benefit from the full value of their work.
